When running Unity workshops I’ve often had people run into this minor but frustrating mix up: their object pivots around a point in space other than they expect.
It can happen for any number of reasons, such as a stray accidental key shortcut toggling how the pivot gets represented, or dropping in a model and making it a child of a parent GameObject which has the control script attached.
